What is BSTruths for?
For the everyday moments that make you laugh, cry, overthink, or whisper, “I know I’m not the only one.” Work drama, relationships, friendship, awkward conversations, and the thoughts that show up when you’re trying to sleep—it all belongs here.
What topics does Ruth talk about?
Whatever everyday nonsense refuses to leave my brain: friendships that get weird, relationships that make no sense, work emails that ruin a perfectly good lunch, family expectations, awkward social events, and the tiny things that somehow turn into big feelings. If it made me laugh, overthink, or say, “Wait, why do people do that?” it might end up here.
What does “BS or Truth?” mean?
It means you get to judge the story. Am I making sense? Am I being dramatic? Did I somehow manage to do both? Tell me what you think.
Who is Ruth Witty?
A woman with opinions, feelings, and a brain that occasionally holds a full courtroom trial over a two-sentence email.
Is Ruth always right?
I wish. It would save me so much time.
Can I share my own experience?
Yes, please! Tell me your story in the comments or through the Contact page. You might make someone else feel a little less alone—or give us all a good laugh.
Can we be friends?
Absolutely. We already have something in common: you found this page, and I’m delighted you’re still reading it.
What if I disagree with you?
Then we can be frenemies. Tell me your side respectfully. I may disagree, I may change my mind, or I may need a snack before replying.
Can I tell you when you’re being dramatic?
Yes, but I probably already know. Dramatic is sometimes how I process a perfectly ordinary Tuesday.
Are these stories real?
Many start with something I experienced or genuinely felt. I may change details, combine moments, or add humor when I tell them.
Is a post about me?
If you felt attacked, then maybe it is you. I didn’t name names, though. 👀
Do you hate the people you write about?
Usually, no. I can be annoyed by what someone did and still recognize that they’re a whole person. I also sometimes write about my own questionable behavior. Fair is fair.
Will you publish a story I send you?
I love reading your experiences. Sending me one doesn’t automatically mean I’ll post it. If I want to feature your story, I’ll ask first.
What if my comment doesn’t appear?
Give it a little time. Comments may be held for review, especially if they contain spam, personal information, or a suspicious number of links to miracle products.
Can I share a post with a friend?
Please do. Send them the link and say, “This reminded me of you.” Whether that’s a compliment is between you and your friend.
How often do you post?
I write when I have something to say—which, unfortunately for my keyboard, is pretty often.
Is this an advice blog?
It’s a “let’s talk about it” blog. I share what happened, what I felt, and what I think now. You’re allowed to reach a completely different conclusion.
What should I read first?
Pick a title that makes you say, “Wait, I’ve been there.” That’s usually a good place to start.
What’s the most important rule here?
Disagree with ideas all you want. Be kind to the people sharing their stories. And if you’re selling a miracle cure in the comments, Ruth is going to become a problem.
So…BS or Truth?
Read a post. Tell me your verdict. We can be friends, frenemies, or two people who both think the weekend is suspiciously short.
